Bullion Ordering Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I specify the year I will receive for my Gold or Silver Maple Leaf purchase?While in many cases the current year is the year we ship, due to supply and production problems we reserve the right to substitute any year for gold or silver bullion at the time of shipping. Unfortunately, we do not offer the ability for customers to specify or request specific years, we are selling strictly bullion coins as "dates our choice".

What payment methods do you accept?While it is convenient for customers to pay for their bullion purchases by credit card or PayPal, we require a majority of all bullion payments be made using certified funds (such as Bank Draft, Cashier's Cheque, Money Order, etc.). Larger transactions require payment by a Bank Wire. We do, however, offer to accept a credit card as a "booking tool" for a deposit to secure the price while a payment is on-route to us. We require all customers choosing this method to fax or email a letter of confirmation to us the day the order is placed so that the deposit can be used to secure the price. If we fail to receive a confirmation letter, the price would NOT be held.

Do I have to provide my Social Security Number? (American Customers only)For shipments to the United States totaling more than $2,000.00 US, we are required to provide US Customs & Border Protection your Social Security Number, or Federal Business EIN Tax ID number (known as the Ultimate Consignee ID number). Shipments that consolidate multiple orders into one export shipment must provide the Ultimate Consignee ID number for each item in a consolidated entry that equals or exceeds $2,000.00 USD. If the Ultimate Consignee ID number is not provided at the time of entry or release, entry of the merchandise will be denied. Please contact US Customs & Border Protection if you have any questions, or view their policy here. (This measure does not apply to orders shipped to a Canadian address.)

Are shipments fully insured?All shipments are sent with a signature required, and are fully insured until signed for.

Can I change my mind after I have placed an order for bullion items?While we do offer a return priviledge of 14 days for most items, because of the volatility of bullion we cannot offer any sort of return or order cancellation priviledge. Customers should be aware that once you confirm that you are purchasing a set quantity of bullion at a confirmed price, those items are technically yours, and we must receive payment in full for those items. Should you wish to cancel a transaction, we would be required to re-purchase those items back from you. This would mean that if the price for the metal content remain the same, you would forfeit your deposit to us. If the price for the metal content has decreased, you would be responsible for the difference in the decrease. Customers should treat purchasing bullion like making any other type of commodity transaction (such as foreign exchange, etc.)and realize that once confirmed with us the obligation to fulfill the contract cannot be withdrawn.


Will Gatewest "buy back" my bullion at a later date?At the present time we do purchase gold and silver bullion in our store.
